Corporate affairs

Counsel for moments that matter.

The firm

Building reputation for the moments that matter.

Hume Strategies advises at the intersection of media, government, and regulation — the territory where reputations are made and lost. Our work ranges from long-term reputation development, to rapid-response issues management.

Managed well, a reputation opens doors. Managed poorly, it closes them. We treat it as an asset to be built and deployed toward your organisation's goals — not just something to be defended.

Why Hume · 01

What sets us apart.

Most advisers arrive with experience in one of the worlds of media, government, or regulation. We have operated at a senior level in all three.

i.

Senior media relations

Extensive experience in media strategy. A deep understanding of the relationships, judgement, and timing critical to being heard.

ii.

Policy campaigns

From work within Ministerial offices and campaigning for legislative change, we have led complex policy and government-engagement work.

iii.

Commercial & regulatory fluency

Senior work at the top of the corporate regulator and in business — fluent in commercial priorities and a regulator's expectations alike.

How we're built

Principal led.

We are a small firm by design — senior people do the work. The person you meet is the person who advises you, through to the resolution.

  • Juniors on your account behind a senior face.
  • A menu of services you are left to assemble.
  • Advice detached from commercial reality.
  • A team that disappears after the pitch.
  • Your name and your matter never discussed elsewhere.

The Hume approach.

02

Design

03

Deliver

Build the capacity to deliver the strategy internally, or act as your arms and legs, pursuing the goal we have agreed.

The principal.

Principal

Nick Creevey.

Nick Creevey has spent nearly twenty years at the centre of the environments that shape reputations in Australia — inside the Prime Minister's press office, leading communications for Australia's corporate and markets regulator, and running corporate affairs for some of the country's most scrutinised companies.

Most advisers arrive with experience in one of the worlds of media, government, or regulation. Nick has operated at a senior level in all three, which means he understands not just how to craft and deliver a strategy, but how to influence the audiences that matter to you.

Senior counsel sits at the centre of every brief. Where a matter calls for it, a trusted bench is brought in to suit the work: investor relations, social and digital, advertising and marketing. The right team, without the overheads of an agency.
